A Home 4 It Key Box - a safe and convenient way to take deliveries when you're not at home

A Home 4 It Key Box is brand new to the market and uses the very latest technology to provide a secure solution to receiving deliveries when you're not at home. As internet shopping increases we all experience problems of having to take time out to be at home for deliveries or making extra journeys to collect parcels from courier or postal depots. For delivery firms the time and cost spent in re-delivering parcels sometimes 2 or 3 times is not only bad for them but has a huge impact on the environment.

Managed Deliveries

A Home 4 It Key Box provides safe storage for a key until it is required by the delivery person. The small electronic key box is fitted to the outside of the home; it is battery powered and requires no connection to phone lines. When a delivery is due you have two options:

1. Display your 'Call A Home 4 It' card and A Home 4 It will manage the delivery or
2. Display 'Call me' option and manage the delivery yourself using SMS text messaging

Option 1
When you are expecting a delivery, leave a key to your garage/shed/porch in the key box and display your 'Call A Home 4 It' card for the delivery driver to see. Our support staff will check the database to make sure the delivery is expected and then give an access code to the delivery driver for your key box. (This code will only be active for 30 minutes). When you come home you can retrieve your parcel from wherever it was left.

Option 2
Display your 'Call me' card for the delivery driver to see. The driver then calls you and you release the key using your mobile phone. To find out the current access code send a text message to A Home 4 It and you will automatically receive a text message containing the current code for your key box. A short time later the code will no longer be current, so the delivery person cannot return when not expected and you don't have to worry about changing the code.

Each 'managed delivery' described above, requires one delivery credit. If you are in when the delivery arrives it costs you nothing.

Your Key Box is supplied with 2 delivery credits to get you going.

How do you open the Keybox?

As well as the temporary codes that would be used by the delivery drivers, each Keybox can be opened with a fixed code. For your own use, just change it from the factory default setting to something more memorable to you and your family.

If you're away from home, want to give somebody access to the Keybox but don't want to give out your fixed code, you can find out temporary access codes using your mobile phone and SMS.

Send an SMS text to Ahome4it and you will automatically receive a return text message containing the current temporary code for your Keybox.

Traceable Access

Each NIB bears a unique serial number inside. The deliverer can use this as proof of delivery. Alternatively, signed paperwork can be left in the delivery location. Also, every code generation event is logged and can be used as part of an audit trail if necessary.

A Home 4 It Key Box has other benefits too - you can give a friend or relative access to your home when needed; somewhere safe for a spare key; access to the home of an elderly or disabled relative or friend.
